Patti Smith och Johnny Depp gör pirat-ballad

Missade du när Johnny Depp och hans Pirates of the Caribbean-regissör Gore Verbinski och producenten Hal Willner samlade ihop en grupp artister - bland annat Lou Reed, Nick Cave, Bono, Van Dyke Parks och Bryan Ferry - för att spela in nya versioner av gamla piratballader? Samlingsskivan Rogue's Gallery som kom ut 2006, kommer nu i en andra tappning.

Willner, Depp och Verbinski har spetsat uppföljaren, som kommer ut bolaget på Anti- den 19 februari och fått titeln Son of Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys. De två skivor innehåller bland annat Tom Waits i ett samarbete med Keith Richards, Patti Smith i en duo med Johnny Depp, Courtney Love tillsammans med Michael Stipe, Iggy Pop och A Hawk and a Hacksaw samt Nick Cave och Warren Ellis, Michael Gira från Swans, Broken Social Scene, Antony och många fler. Depp, Verbinski och Willner inspirerades att sätta ihop Rogue's Gallery under inspelningen av filmen Pirates of the Caribbean: Död mans kista år 2006.
