Johnny Flynn heter mannen som kommer att spela David Bowie i den kommande filmen Stardust, om ikonen. Nu har de första bilderna på Flynn som Bowie offentliggjorts, skriver bl.a. Pitchfork.
Johnny Flynn har både erfarenhet inom musik och skådespeleri vilket passar rollen då även Bowie utöver sin oförglömliga musik också medverkade i filmer som The Man Who Fell To Earth från 1976 och Labyrinth från 1986. Den kommande filmen porträtterar Bowie i början 70-talet då han skapade sitt alterego Ziggy Stardust (bilden ovan kommer från Alladdin Sane-perioden strax efter.) Filmens skapare insisterar dock på att Stardust inte är en biopic, skriver Pitchfork. Vilket troligtvis är en reaktion på den kritik filmen mött.

Stardust is the first feature film about Bowie to be released since his death in 2016. It stars the musician and actor Johnny Flynn and depicts Bowie’s attempt to break America in 1971

I februari kommenterade Bowies son Duncan Jones nyheten om den kommande filmen. På Twitter skrev han att familjen inte står bakom filmplanerna och att producenterna hittills inte fått rättigheterna att använda sig av Bowies musik.
”Det är upp till publiken att bestämma om de vill se en biopic utan hans musik eller familjens godkännande”, skrev Duncan Jones på Twitter.

Im saying that as it stands, this movie won't have any of dads music in it, & I can't imagine that changing. If you want to see a biopic without his music or the families blessing, thats up to the audience.
